ICYMARE is organized by early-career scientists for early career scientists and none of it would be possible without our amazing team of volunteers. While some work behind the scenes all year to organize ICYMARE, we also need dedicated on-site volunteers to run ICYMARE 2026 BREMEN.
Why join as a volunteer?
Being an ICYMARE conference volunteer is a great way to get involved with the early-career marine science community. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first conference or you’ve attended many before, being a student volunteer is a fantastic opportunity to meet some great people and experience what it’s like to shift from attending to hosting.
Of course, you’ll have time to attend sessions, workshops, and social events, but we do ask that volunteers are available for at least 15 hours of shift coverage during the conference.
What you’ll be doing:
We’re looking for ICYMARE 2026 BREMEN volunteers to help with:
- Attendee registration
- Logistic support for session hosts
- Setting up and maintaining catering stations and social areas
- Helping to set up and run social events
- Making sure everyone stays caffeinated (very important!)

Please note: As a non–profit event, we unfortunately cannot cover travel or accommodation costs for our volunteers but of course your conference fee will be waived.
